What I wish I knew as a rookie wife.

The first year is the year nobody tells you about. The contracts, the cities, the loneliness in a stadium full of people who know your last name but not your first. Here is what I would tell my younger self the night before our first training camp, and what every woman walking into this life deserves to hear out loud.

It was the silence after the game, the part where everyone leaves and the house feels too quiet, and you realize you do not yet know who to call.
